For more than 30 years, West Bay Residential has provided Rhode Island’s developmentally disabled individuals with the support and care they deserve.   Unfortunately, this has become more difficult in recent years, as the state has cut funding to the individuals that use West Bay’s supports.  This year’s cuts were catastrophic - more than 20 percent of the state’s support was slashed.  Not surprisingly, these cuts resulted in layoffs and the elimination of many support programs.  

Many decades ago, when the Ladd Center was officially closed, we all promised the developmentally disabled and their families that they would not be abandoned.
